‘Marrakech International film festival’ is an international festival which is held annually in Marrakech, Morocco. Since its origin in 2001, the festival has been doing too well and is considered as one of the biggest events in the film world. However, this yeyar the festival is going to be somehow more special. Reasons are many, but to denote the prime reason, the festival is about to pay tribute to late legendary B-town filmmaker Yash chopra.

What we have come to hear, there is going to be a special screening of the late legend’s last directorial venture ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ in the film festival and reportedly, King Khan who played the lead in the movie will attend the festival ,too. Apart, some other films like Don, Don 2, Jodhaa Akbar, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Student of the Year, English Vinglish, Veer Zaara and Barfi are also to be screened in the festival.

This year’s delegation to Morocco is being led by megastar Amitabh Bacchan and the team includes other actors like Hrithik Roshan, Tabu, Sridevi, Abhay Deol, Arjun Rampal and Priyanka Chopra. Recollecting his previous know-how at Marrakech film festival, Big B said, “I remember with deep gratitude, my last visit to Marrakech in October 2003 and the warmth and the hospitality that was extended to us during our short stay. I look forward to the pleasure of being there again.”

However, what’s more interesting in the development is Ashutosh Gowariker’s 2008 magnum oeuvre Jodhaa Akbar, which is meant for a very special screening on the evening of December 5 at the Jemaa El Fna Square. It’s expected that the screening will gather around 50,000 people on the spot.
