Akshay Kumar in Rowdy Rathore

With a record collection of 48.5 crore in just 3 days, 65.5 crore in 5 days, Akshay Kumar proves that he is still the biggest Khiladi in the BO and Rowdy Rathore is a lively instance of this. Made with a projected budget of Rs. 45 crore, the Sonakshi Sinha-Akshay Kumar starrer movie has already collected more than the invested money simply in 3 days. Huge success of the movie has even obligated the trade experts to predict that the movie might enter the Rs. 100 crore club.

Keeping eye on the grand success of RR, trade analyst Taran Adarsh opined, ““RR is Akshay’s Dabangg. I call it a wow-dy weekend for Rathore. Akshay lived the role and Prabhudheva knows his audience well. With Rs. 15.1 cr (Friday), Rs. 14.7 cr (Saturday) and Rs. 18.5 cr (Sunday), the film has netted Rs. 48.5 cr this weekend.” Two-tier cities like Kanpur, Nagpur, Indore, Jaipur, Udaipur and Lucknow recorded a collection with an average of 85 per cent in single-screens.” Apart, the movie has collected  RS9.15 cr nett on Monday and  Rs. 8.25 cr nett on Tuesday, with a grand total of 65.5 crore.

Added trade expert Komal Nahta, ““Single-screen cinemas are going berserk over RR. It’s a straight blockbuster. That’s what Rowdy Rathore is!! Next 100-crore film? All chances!”

I hope these comments are enough to make you assured about the splendid commotion of the movie all around. The film is directed by Prabhu Deva and is the third largest open ever after Agneepath and Bodyguard, though the three are remakes. But what’s special with the movies is that, it is the largest non-holiday (Friday) opener in the BO. In fact, this is also the largest solo opening for Khiladi Kumar and he forgets not to bestow thanks to his fans.

The actor recently wrote on his twitter page, “I owe a HUGE thank you to my audience! You are the only reason behind the biggest opening weekend of my career! Love Rowdy,” expressing thanks for his fans and supporters.

Whatever it might be, but the reason is enough to carry on celebrations in the RR camp and celebrating the triumph of RR, Siddharth Roy Kapur, MD, Studios, Disney UTV, says, “We had a six month promotion strategy for the film, but what really hit it was the connect Prabhudheva, his team and the film have made with the audience.”

We have also a cause to celebrate guys! Ask what? Of course to rush into the nearest cinema hall and support our own Rowdy Kumar! Say what? Are you joining me there?
