Deepika Padukone believes in quality versus quantity.

What you think? Glamorous roles need acting talent or not? Some might think not! But, that’s what hurts the B-town actress Deepika Padukone the most. Deepika, who is famous in the industry for playing both glamorous and non-glamorous characters, feels poignant when people think that playing a glamorous character doesn’t necessitate mush effort.

“I think the role is more important. It is a misconception that a glamorous role doesn’t require acting talent. It’s a bit strange, because I think at the end of the day, any kind of film — whether it is glamorous or ‘de-glam’ (non-glamorous) – requires acting. Acting is acting,” said Deepi in a recent interview with a leading daily.

She gave an instance of her self-acted movie to make the issue more obvious. “For example, people think I gave a brilliant performance as Veronica in Cocktail, but it was also a glamorous role. For me, it is about the role and the film, not glamour,” she said. Deepi, who initiated her career in the B-town with King Khan in Om Shanti Om has given numerous back to back hits like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Housefull, Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail etc. The actress considers it important that her character in the movies should not only be best, but the movie must do well at the box office.’

Confining the blend of her success along with the movies’, she said that “Cocktail’ was the one that gave her the both. “When you set out to do a film, one hopes that your performance is appreciated and the film also goes on to do well. Fortunately with me, in Cocktail, I got both. The film did well and the performance was appreciated. I hope this happens in all my films,” she said.

Ask her if she fears to get over exposed and the babe says, she is quite okay with that as she believes in quality versus quantity. “I think as long as you are doing good work, that is the most important thing. I don’t think that it can result in over-exposure of any form. Also I am someone who has always believed in quality versus quantity,” she says emphasizing on her adamant nature for success.
