Dara Singh’s funeral took place.

Veteran actor and iconic wrestler Dara Singh breathed his last the previous morning in his Juhu Bungalow at the age of 84. He was admitted in the Mumbai Kokilaben hospital for 5 days due to cardiac chaos and was struggling with death. Finally, he had to take retirement from this material world on Thursday morning.

“He is still wearing his famous smile and I want people to see him go that way. He lived like a king, I want him to go like one”, said his son Vindoo Dara Singh in tribute of his beloved father.

On Wednesday night only, the legend was discharged from hospital, after the doctors finally declared no chance of his recovery. Dara Singh sought to squander the remaining few moments of his life at his home and hence the family decided to take him back home. After his death, Dara Singh’s corpse was kept on a huge palanquin and was taken at Vile Parle crematorium on a truck following a large procession.

The B-town celebrities like Fardeen Khan, Sajid Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Mink, Tabu, Zarine Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Raza Murad, Dolly Bindra and many more were seen at his bungalow as well as the funeral ground. He was given the funeral in the presence of numerous B-town celebs, politicians and thousands of fans.

The great man had achieved a lot throughout the small span of his life. He fought more than 500 professional wrestling matches in his wrestling career, and all unbeaten! Hence, he won lots of awards for his wrestling superiority. He took retirement from wresting in 1983 and stepped into Bollywood in 1952. ‘Sangdil’ was his first Bollywood movie and in whole he acted in around 140 films.

It’s a truth that Dara Singh is no more and we can never get the touch of his vanished hand. But it’s obvious that the scarcity of a great Indian and greatest personality will always be missed.
